College Plaza Pediatrics – Coronavirus Protocol
Effective 5/15/2020
As the curve of COVID has started to decline, it is important to us that our patient's essential healthcare needs are addressed. With safety measures in place for our patients, their family and employees we have begun the process for gradually providing sick visits.
We understand you may be hesitant to seek in-person care at this time. However, the dangers of undetected medical illnesses may put your child and family at even greater risk. We have put careful precautions and protocols in place to ensure safe in-office visits. Your child's care, as well as the safety and well-being of our staff is top priority. Our staff have been trained and we are reinforcing best practices.
We are implementing the following changes:
-
Limited number of sick visits will take place by appointment only between the hours of 2pm-5:30pm, Monday thru Friday; Walk-in hours are suspended until further notice.
-
We will request parents of sick children to call from their vehicle when they arrive and our staff will provide instruction prior to coming into the building.
-
Sick patients will be brought in through a separate door to designated rooms to limit exposure to other patients and visitors.
-
Continuation of screening for COVID exposure via phone.
-
All employees, visitors and patients ages 3 years and above are expected to be wearing masks or face coverings.
-
Social and physical distancing measures include minimal time spent in waiting areas, chairs spaced at least 6 feet apart.
-
Restriction of visitors, limiting visits to the patient and one parent.
-
Temperature screening of all patients and parents.
-
Rigorous cleaning and disinfecting of all areas in our office
As we gradually resume in-person care, we will continue to offer telemedicine care that can be accomplished virtually. Please call our office and make an appointment for your child. Our providers will assess the child's needs and decide which type of visit is most appropriate.
If you need to see a provider in the office, please follow the guidelines outlined below.
We ask that only one parent/guardian accompany the child during the visit. If you have other children, it would be best to leave them with someone at home or have them stay with an adult in the car during the office visit. This will help us to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
If you have a copay, you will pay at the front desk first and then go to your room.
Your provider will visit you in the exam room. After your visit is over, your provider can schedule a follow-up visit while they are in the room with you.
When you are finished, you and your child can walk directly out of the office back to your car. You do not need to stop at the front desk on your way out.
As always, if you have questions or concerns, please call or send a message through our website.
These changes are designed to keep all our patients and staff safe and we will continue to work to provide you with the very best care!
